Per Crioclastismo si intende invece il fenomeno che MODIFICA LO STATO DEL SOTTOMANTO, disgregandolo.
Nella stagione fredda si possono presentare entrambi i fenomeni con estrema facilità. PREREQUISITO PERCHÉ CIÒ ACCADA: il SOTTOMANTO deve essere SATURO DI UMIDITÀ e soggetto a successive e continue fasi di congelamento e disgelo.
È possibile ritardare o annullare il verificarsi di tali fenomeni usando in rullo in via preventiva. Ovviamente se il clima della zona geografica in cui si trova il campo lo permette.
Durante la stagione fredda è altrettanto possibile recuperare parzialmente o in toto, con determinate condizioni climatiche, una superficie di gioco che sta subendo tali fenomeni. Anche in questo caso la zona geografica fa la differenza.
